Denmark stands firm to supports interventions in Syria outside the UN

Thursday, 29 August 2013
A majority of Danish political parties supports an action in Syria even without the support of the UN.
An hour-long meeting of the Danish Foreign Policy Committee, held to discuss effort on Syria, today taken place today and after the meeting there were signs of continued support to any type action in Syria among a majority of the parties in the Danish parliament.

The support is so far only moral and political - there is no decision yet whether Denmark is ready to support in a military action. Should Denmark at a later date decide to participate militarily, Parliament must vote on it.

Some side reactions however are concerns that Denmark could intervene in Syria without knowing whether it'll have any positive impact positively on the civilian population.

This comes after the British government was defeated in parliament today after a very long day debate about the British military involvement in Syria.
