Denmark appoints new Governor of their central bank

Lars Rohde is the new director of the Danish central Bank, according to
a Danish statement from the Prime Minister. He replaces Nils
Bernstein.
Governor, Nils Bernstein will resign from his position at the end of
January 2013 due to the Central Bank's Act age limit of 70 years.
Lars
Rohde has worked both in the banking, mortgage and pension fund
sectors. It gives him a very broad financial knowledge to the job as
Governor, according to reports- Img/Danish Radio
The
government's appointment as well as Organisation Committee's decision
to appoint the 58-year-old, Lars Rohde for the post of new Governor
takes effect from 1st February 2013.
Prime Minister, Helle Thorning-Schmidt said that "Lars Rohde is very
suitable for solving the tasks that the Central Bank is facing. Lars
Rohde has extensive knowledge and experience in the Central Bank's
responsibilities, and he is widely recognized for his work as director
of ATP. The government therefore is very much looking forward to
working with Lars Rohde," said the Prime Minister.
Growth and Business Affairs minister, Ole Sohn (SF) also sees
naturally that Lars Rohde was the right man for the job with the
experience he has from the financial world and knowledge of the
international capital market.
