Tuesday, 02 July 2013
For more than a year now, the Swedish opposition party, the Social Democrats has been leading in the opinion polls and as the election ticks closer and closer, there is a growing resignation on the side of businesses that the socialists are coming for sure.

They are starting to learn how life would be under the Social Democrats and to start adjusting to such life as it is imminent that there will be a change of government in 2014.

The proportion of business leaders who believe that Stefan Lofven's party, The Social Democrats will wins the 2014 election has increased rapidly, according to a new survey of 500 executives, which the polling organisation Skop conducted on behalf of the Swedish business daily, Dagens Industri.

One year ago, the percentage who thought the current conservative bourgeoisies coalition government will remain in office has reduced from 74 percent to 48 percent.

This is not the wish of businesses though for they feel that that they'll do better under the current government than with the arrival of the Socialists and the Greens. However, the voters feels that the current government has gone out of touch and has favoured businesses over them.

With unemployment running above 7.5 percent, lots of problems in the healthcare delivery sectors, the question of privatisation in the education and other welfare related areas, the Swedish people have started dancing more towards the socialists and the Greens who promise harmonisation of the system to the old style if they get back to office.
