Swedish unemployment fall but increased employment among women

In March 2012 the number of employed persons in Sweden in the age group 15-74 amounted to 4 643 000. Compared to the same period last year, this is an increase of 78 000, of whom 74 000 were women.

The number of unemployed persons amounted to 389 000, corresponding to an unemployment rate of 7.7 percent, down from 8.1. The number of hours worked increased by 2.3 percent. Seasonally adjusted data shows an increase of the employment among women.
