Swedish restaurant sales up in June

The volume of sales for restaurants in June 2012 showed an increase of 4.9 percent compared to the same period last year. The volume of sales for roadside restaurants was strong and increased by 13.7 percent. From January 2012 onwards the Restaurant Index includes VAT.

The volume of sales for hotel restaurants increased by 6.1 percent in June. Other types of restaurants with positive volumes of sales were cafés (+13.2 %) and fast food restaurants (+7.9%).

At the same time the turnover for restaurants increased by 4.9 percent in June compared to the same month last year.
