Swedish Music Exports increased in 2011

The Swedish music industry exported products to the tones of Skr502 million a year earlier, an increase of nine percent compared with 2010, according to figures from the Swedish Growth Board, Tillväxtverket and the music organisation, Musiksverige (Music Sweden).

Reports hold that export revenues are constricted when Swedish music is played abroad, for example, on radio, clubs, in advertising or television. The money goes to composers, musicians, artists, publishers and music companies.
