Scandinavian property shoppers making a bonanza in Southern Spain

There has been a large rise in the number of Scandinavian people buying new properties in southern Spain, particularly the Costa del Sol, the property website, Property wire reports

According to the site, one leading house builder has seen a 311 percent increase in Scandinavian purchasers who have now been accounted to be a fifth of all property buyers in the region.

The site continues that Spanish property developer, Taylor Wimpey España properties also says that 46 percent of Nordic buyers favoured the Costa del Sol in 2012.

It is generally said that, the fact that Scandinavian countries have weathered the financial storm better than most of the Europe, they have the potentials to buy and invest in property. If one also add that the price of properties in Spain would be selling at a more discount rate at this moment given the economic situation in the country as well as that, Nordic property prices have grown too expensive, it make sense to see the Nordics flocking down to Spain.
