Number of employees in Sweden increased 2.3 percent

During the first quarter of 2012 the number of employed persons in Sweden amounted to 4 140 800, an increase of 2.3 percent, according to official data from statistic Swedish.

The number of employed persons in the private sector increased by 3.1 percent and by 0.6 percent in the public sector.

Gross pay increased in total by 4.2 percent during the first quarter. Gross pay development was better for the private sector compared to the public sector. Gross pay increased by 4.3 percent in the private sector and by 3.8 percent in the public sector. The demand for labour increased and during the first quarter there were     77 400 job openings on the labour market, an increase of 16.8 percent.
