Norwegian unemployment rate 2.7 percent

Unemployment in Norway rose to 71 738 people in July, representing 2.7 percent of its workforce, according official data from the Norwegian labour and welfare issues, NAV.

As a percentage of the population unemployment saw and an increase from 2.4 percent in June. But this is lower than last year's July figure of 2.8 percent.

According to NAV's Director Ingunn Midttun Godal, the increase in July is largely an effect of less people being involved in labour market programs in the summer.
