Gloomy British business scene persists as empty shops rate hits record

Friday, 23 March 2012
The proportion of shops in Britain lying empty has hit a new record of 14.6 percent in February, according to figures compiled by the Local Data Company, reports the BBC.
Details from the BBC – external source

This comes after the government passed it 4 year running austerity budget which many analysts feel that it did not hold much to spur growth but to awarded tax breaks to the rich.

It is also argued that the Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborn heaped the poor and the pensioner with tax hikes while doing little to cut red taps that would spur entrepreneurship and turn the ailing British economy around.
