Fall in the construction of new dewlling in Sweden in the first quarter of 2012

The uncertainty in the Swedish real estate sector means that
constructions of residential home have fallen. Despite the
persistent sky rocket prices, the first quarter saw the construction of
approximately 4850 apartments in Sweden. This represents a decrease of 35 percent compared with the year 2011, according to official data from statistic Sweden.
Statistic Sweden gave the distribution of dwellings constructed during
the period is as follows - 2012: 950 dwellings in one - or
two-dwelling buildings and 3 900 in multi- dwelling buildings. That
compared in 1 877 dwellings in one- or two-dwelling buildings and 5 541
in multi-dwelling buildings in 2011.
“To make it easier to compare between years, the figures for 2012 are
adjusted upwards by 35 percent, which is the average time lag in
reporting in recent years,” writes Statistics Sweden.
