Egalitarian Sweden where Men earn on average 14 percent more than women
Wednesday, 20 June 2012
Sweden is know in the international arenas a country were social
mobility is strong and where women have equality with men in most
aspects. Yeah? Wrong
When it comes to earning or pay as per same work done at same time of
input, men in Sweden still earn more than their female colleagues. The
differences in between men and women shrank a little bit with men
earning on average 14.1 percent more than women, according to the
Swedish National Mediation Office review of the 2011 wages.
Compared with 2010, the gap decreased by 0.2 percentage points,
probably due to strong wage growth, skill shortages and strong bargains
and negotiation.
When the data is grounded to that men and women work on different
occupations, have different qualification and work with more, the
difference in pay will be 5.9 percent.
The average wage for all last year was Skr29 000 a month.
