Cows stolen from farmers in a strange king of new crimes

Wednesday, 26 December 2012
An unusual kind of theft has taken place on a Swedish far where 69 cows have been reportedly stolen. Initial investigation points to that the animals already might have been ferried out of the country.

The theft described as a "more unusual kind" occurred on a farm in Stjärnhov, where 69 cows were probably stolen just before Christmas.

A week ago, the farmer, Claes Roempke, of Stjärnhov in Södermanland, discovered that the cows were gone. They had gone to the slaughter, and he had prepared for slaughter car that would get them during Wednesday morning. Then they were not there.

According to police, this type of theft is extremely rare and difficult to manage.
Each of the 69 cows has gone mysteriously with a possible scenario being that the animals could have been transferred out of the country, an officer at the police in  Sörmland is reported to have told Swedish television.
