Continued fall in Swedish industrial production

Swedish Industrial production decreased by 2.6 percent in May compared
to April in seasonally adjusted figures. Compared with May 2012,
industrial production decreased by 7.3 in calendar adjusted figures.
New
data from Statistic Sweden report about the changes and show that the
decrease in April was followed by an even larger decrease in May. The
development remained mixed within the industry sub-sectors, although
most showed decreases. The weakest development was seen in the chemical
industry and pharmaceutical industry aggregate while the electrical
equipment industry showed the strongest development. Also the industry
for basic metals reported a significant decrease in May.
Statistic Sweden report also reports that similar to the monthly
development, the three month comparison was negative and decreased by
1.3 percent for the period March-May 2013, compared with December
2012-February 2013.
The weak development on annual basis continued in May, with a decrease
of 7.3 percent. The result was a consequence from the fact that only
two sub-sectors had positive development while several sub-sectors
showed significant decreases, reports statistic Sweden.The figures for
May are preliminary.
