Car registration in Sweden increased

New car registration in Sweden in gearing up as new car registration in August stood at 21,616 cars, latest figures out today show.
Organization, Bil Sweden which collects and present these figures show that the registration was an increase of 2.6 percent compared with the same month last year.
Thus, registrations increased for two consecutive months after the previous fall.
So far this year, 168,677 new cars have been registered in Sweden, that's down 7.2 percent from the same period last year.
Among the hottest passenger cars registered in Sweden, the first place went to Volvo V70 with 11,774 registrations so far this year, compared with 13,691 in the same period last year. Second is the VW Passat with 9226 (11,116) and third Volvo S/V60 with 8386 (8494).
Statistics Sweden on its part reports on the number of registered passenger cars and lorries. According to Statistics Sweden, 23,807 news cars were registered in Sweden in August. This is an increase of 3.6 percent compared with the same month last year.
It also reports of a decrease of 7.8 percent noted for lorries in August 2013 - in which
3 493 new lorries were registered compared with 3 789 in August 2012.
SCB also added directly imported cars and all model years, in contrast to figures from the Bill Sweden statistics that contain only first-time registrations of the last three model years.
