Wednesday, 30 January 2013
The Swedes have a higher chance of surviving many cancers types than people from other Western countries, a new research within cultural differences show.
Swedes are more ready to report signs of cancer and to tell their doctors about new ailments, leading to early detection of cancer than  people of other countries.

It is a study in which researchers have compared several developed countries, including Sweden, Norway, United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada, to determine the survival rate of the ailment, the Swedes are most likely to tell the doctor that they feel bad compared to people from the other countries in the study.

Worst is in British were people did not want to report their ailment to the doctor for fear of taking the doctor's time. As a result, cancer sufferers were less likely to be treated at an early stage, where there a greater chance to cure the ailment.

The British are with Canadians at least aware of their own cancer risk, while the Swedes are at the top and are more than twice as aware of the risk that cancer increases with age.

This, altogether it makes it easy for the Swedes to receive early cancer diagnosis and therefore earlier can get the right care and thereby increase their survival cancer.
