People who consume more sweet drinks and sodas are ore exposed to cancer

A new research from university of Lund, in Sweden show that people who consume more fizzy drinks and sodas are more exposed to cancer illness. According to a research conducted in Malmö on 8000 people, the result was explicit.

"Among the men who drank a lot of soda or other drinks with added sugar, we saw an increased risk of prostate cancer by about 40 percent," said Isabel Drake, PhD student at the Department of Clinical Sciences in Malmö, Lund University, to Swedish television.

In addition to soft drinks, there appeared to include high consumption of sweetened breakfast cereals, buns, cakes, rice and pasta to the risky consumption pattern.

Still is not properly clear how to sufficiently provide a more general dietary advice to these types of men given the diversity of the food that can be determine to ignite this illness. Nevertheless, the general view is to call for the reduction in the consumption of sugars and related sweetening components.

"Given that soda consumption has increased significantly over time, there are good reasons to continue and deepen the studies," says Isabel Drake.

The basis for the research was to examine the health structure of more than 8000 men from Malmö, southern Sweden aged 45-73 years. They took part in a study to determine the proliferation of cancer within the population of Malmö in relation to Diet. One main example is that they had undergone medical examinations and completed diet diary. This diary was analysed and determined that a particular diet could be playing a leading role in accelerate that disease.
