The sale of Saab’s automobile could have been completed - National Electric Vehicle Sweden said to be the buyer
Thursday, 07 June 2012
The Swedish automaker, Saab automobile which went bankrupt recently
will now be sold as the bankruptcy administrator is reported to have
finished their work and come up with the final result.
Swedish media and especially the Trollhättan news portal, ttela.se says
that Saab Automobile's bankruptcy may have been completed, sources
close to the paper said. Radio Sweden also reported that that the
consortium made up of Japanese and Chinese automaker or the electric
vehicle consortium, the National Electric Vehicle, Sweden is the final
winner of the bid.
"That's what we know right now, "says Trollhättans Mayor, Annika Wennerblom, to the newspaper.
According to previous information, the electric vehicle consortium, the
National Electric Vehicle Sweden, was performing well with the
negotiations. The company must have been prepared to pay somewhere
between Skr1.5 to Skr1.8 billion for Saab Automobile, excluding the
spare parts company, Saab Parts.
According to Annika Wennerblom, there is still a "total solution" that can apply, write ttela.se.
Saab Automobile, with subsidiaries Saab Tools and Saab Powertrain, were
declared bankrupt on 19 December last year. The three companies'
liabilities amounted to approximately Skr13 billion. When assets are
also counted together, the lack of business nests over nine billion.
This spring, the administrators negotiated with a handful of interested
parties who have expressed interest in purchasing the entire Saab
Automobile. The goal has been to an agreement for the sale of the
estate to be ready before summer.
So far, no comment has been received from the National Electric Vehicle Sweden (Nevs).
Radio Sweden has reached the Karl-Erik Trogen, Chairman of Nevs, but he has nothing to say about this morning's information.
"That, I can absolutely not do," he says.
The electric vehicle consortium’s very sparse website has a cryptic text about Saab on the front page:
"Saab Automobile in Trollhättan, Sweden stands for innovative power and
strong technological skills. Saab Automobile has a widespread
commitment to future solutions in the transport sector, ” the text
reads.
