VOLVO construction to lay off 350 workers

Volvo Construction Equipment is laying off 350 employees at four plants in Sweden, various Swedish media reports say citing the tabloid, Aftonbladet as the initiator.

The notice affects 100 people in Hallsberg, 100 in Borås, 100 in Arvika and 50 in Eskilstuna.

The lay off is blamed on the decline in the market sentiments noticeable in the fall in demand and orders according to Jörgen Svenningsson, Production manager of Volvo Construction Equipment in charge of Europe, Aftonbladet said.
