Top Chinese politicians visits their asset, Volvo cars corporation in Gothenburg
Sunday, 02 June 2013
Gothenburg is still the headquarters of Volvocar corporations even
though it has been owned by the Chinese now for a while. The automobile
company has been having some poor performances in the market of late
when it comes to sales.
The company has been seeking means to push performance and probably
this is the reason why some top officials of the Chinese political
class were found around town on Sunday.
According to Swedish daily, Gothenburg Posten, the number four in the
Chinese leadership hierarchy, Yu Zheng Sheng, visited on Sunday the
Volvo plant in Torslanda in Hisingen in Gothenburg.
Yu Zheng Sheng is the newly elected chairman of the Chinese People's
Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and is seen as a very influential
leader after the president, prime minister and chairman of the NPC. He
is also one of seven members of the Politburo Standing Committee.
The Chinese delegation of some 50 persons was received by Volvo
Chairman Li Shufu, Vice Chairman Hans-Olov Olsson and CEO Håkan
Samuelsson.
