Swedish pharmacies are being investigated for illegal sales of medication
Friday, 14 December 2012Swedish Pharmacies are being investigated for illegal trading of drugs and related items abroad.
Läkemedelsverket, or Medical product agency, (MPA) is examining a number of Swedish pharmacies suspected that they are illegally selling drugs abroad. The investigation was launched when MPA was tipped that such a business was taking place, the newspaper, Läkemedelsvärlden or Pharmaceutical World.
It is reported that this concerns a kind of expensive drugs, which are sold by these pharmacies to dealers abroad. That type of dealer is not allowed by the roles that governs the way pharmacies operates in Sweden. One factor is that many of these medications are already subsidised for sale in Sweden so when they are sold abroad these companies are breaking the rules.
