Tuesday, 19 March 2013
The Swedish military hardware maker, Saab is not giving up with its ambition to sell its fighter jets, the Gripen NG, to the Brazilian military despite fears of competition from the likes of the French and the Americans.

Swedish media sources that have got in contact with the company report that the company says it is still upbeat about their chances of hitting a deal.

"One can say a lot about Brazil, but not much can be said now. One want to extend the offer for six months, we are hanging loose, it's a marathon," says Eddy de la Motte, export manager for the Gripen according to Swedish business daily, Dagens Industri.

Eddy de la Motte also mentioned a rumour he read in a newspaper on the spot claiming that Brazilian President, Dilma Rousseff, has Gripen as a favourite choice for her country.
