Saab car production to resume some time this year -  Nevs aims to build thousands of Saab cars in Sweden this year

Fresh report out this morning say that this year aiming Nevs, the company that own Saab automobile, is planning on building around the 8000 Saab 9-3 cars and the company is said to start production in late August, 2013, Radio Sweden reports

The plan is that in two year's time, the production rate of cars would be up to 120,000 cars per year, Nevs hope.

Saab Automobile's new owners Nevs has been secretive about its plan for the future, but in a letter to suppliers, radio Sweden learned that the company is in the line for development.

Nevs is also said to be investigating earlier opportunity such as resuming the production of the current version of the Saab 9-3 as a conventional car, then for it to be driven by either petrol or diesel engine.

Radio Sweden reports that Nevs aim to have a production rate of 20,000 vehicles during the year, starting week 34. That would mean that the line inside the Saab factory starts rolling again for the first time in over two years.

The Company believes that the production rate will increase and reach 60,000 cars next year. The rate of production is estimated to increase to 60 000 and a full shift at the beginning of 2014, the company had written.

This figure should then be doubled and 120,000 cars would be produced in 2015 with two-shift production.

Saab's new owners are now negotiating with subcontractors that they will supply parts. According to the company, most contractors responded positively and indicated that they can deliver to a start of production this summer.

We reported yesterday that a step forward was taken on Tuesday when it was announced that the Chinese city of Qingdao would invest at least Skr2 billion in Nevs toward becoming a partner in the company.
