Saab Dynamics in Karlskoga will shed 70 jobs - implementing efficiency measure previously announced

Monday, 02 September 2013
Defence group Saab wants to do away with  70 employees in the business area Dynamics based in Karlskoga. The reason is the decline in orders. The negotiations will start today with workers and their representatives.
In conjunction with Saab's interim report January-June 2013, on July 19, it was announced that efficiency measures would be implemented during 2013.

Today came the news of cutbacks according to a press release from the company, which wrote of "the notice that is currently sent in Karlskoga is necessary to create conditions for achieving the Company's long-term goals."

The move the company blamed on budget austerity in many countries  - “Budget constrains in several countries affect all defence and security companies, including Saab. Meanwhile we saw an increase in order bookings in four out of six business areas during the first half of 2013. For us to remain one of the most cost effective companies in the industry, we must continuously adjust our operations,” says Görgen Johansson, Senior Vice President Business Area Dynamics in a statement.
