SAS seeks the help of Indian consultancy as the company continues to beg for survival strategy
Tuesday, 17 July 2012
The Scandinavian airliner, SAS will need the help of low cost
production if it is able to compete somewhat. As such, the most optimal
option at its disposal is to outsource its financial operations to a
low cost country - India.
According to Swedish business daily, Dagens Industri, the Indian giant,
Tata consultancy will be working for SAS new financial system, thereby
helping the company reduce its costs.
The deal will save money for the troubled airline, which have had the
same system for ten years. Hakan Borg Lund, head of SAS financial
system, according to the newspaper says that, there can be no
question of redundancies. He says that this is a significant
productivity improvement.
He would not mention anything about what the deal will cost or how much the company will save.
SAS is majority owned by the governments of Sweden, Denmark and Norway.
Of these countries, the Danish and Swedish economies are having
increased unemployment as such would the tax owned company such as SAS
choose to use outside operations at a time when Swedish people cannot
get a job? - Just asking!
