SAS crisis plan agreement in trouble waters as claims emerged of back stabbing

Tuesday, 18 December 2012
Scandinavian airliner (SAS) which recently agreed with the Unions so that it could resume operation seems to be heading towards the rocks. It is clamed that the agreement with the SAS and the Union was done behind the backs of the union's unanimous agreement.

The agreement with the Norwegian cabin compartment may be invalid because the union's President, Elisabeth Goffeng has gone behind the backs of their members when she signed the agreement, the Norwegian site Nettavisen claim.

The site claims to have documents proving that Elisabeth Goffeng signed the agreement even though a majority of the members of the Norwegian cabin compartment were against it.

According to Norwegian lawyers , it could mean that SAS's new agreement with the union's  900 members must be nullified. Without that agreement SAS new crisis plan would fall as the company may lose its new credit line of Skr3.5 billion.

SAS Press representative Elisabeth Manzi dismisses the claim, however, that the agreement would be invalid.
"We believe that we have a collective agreement and that the agreement is what we relate to, "she says, and continues:
"We understand that there is a disagreement on the board of NKF ( which is the Norwegian cabin compartment, ). We have also been in dialogue with them. But we can not give in and solve their internal problems. "

Despite what any body says and despite questions relating to the nature of the agreement, Elisabeth Manzi insists that the question is not very relevant. "What is relevant now is that there is an agreement in place and that is the case ", says Elisabeth Manzi.
