Pressure on Swedish media business as 60 jobs to go at Svenska Dagsbladet

Pressure in the Swedish media landscape continues to be felt with one of the biggest boys in town shedding jobs.

The daily, Svenska Dagbladet, is to cut  60 position when the paper would want to save Skr40 million.
The cuts will affect mostly those  who want to voluntarily  and negotiations have started with the unions.

The paper's editor, Lena Samuelsson writes in a press release that the newspaper must cut costs to adjust to new market conditions.
Of the nearly 60 posts to be cut,  about 40 of them will affect people in the newsroom, according to media reports.

Svenska Dagbladet today has 350 employees, including 180 in the newsroom. They were informed about the planned changes on Wednesday morning.
