Norwegian, the airline company, wants to launch a new airline
Wednesday, 02 October 2013
Norwegian Airline Company, Norwegian has applied to start a new airline
company from the Norwegian Civil Aviation authority. The Company will
primarily invest in new markets in Europe.
The application for the license was made in early September, and the
company wants to start the company to be named Norwegian Air Norway AS,
writes Norwegian business daily, Dagens Næringsliv.
According to the paper, the new licence application is driven mostly by
legal reasons. Much of the company's businesses operation could as well
be transferred to the new company, which probably means that the planes
will be registered in an EU country and not in Norway.
Norway does not have the same agreement with all countries so it is
complicated to fly with an ordinary Norwegian license, according to
Asgeir Nyseth, operations manager at Norwegian.
The application is yet to be processed by the aviation authority.
