Looks like Finnair would soon be getting into the market as state seek to reduce control
Wednesday, 28 November 2012The Finnish government should abandon its majority stake in Finnair, and other owners found so that the new strategy for the growth of the airliner be guaranteed. This is the view of the Minister, Heidi Hautala (Greens) speaking to Yle, the Finnish broadcaster in the morning television.
Hautala responsible of the state ownership said: "It would be good if the government would ask Parliament to reduce state ownership of Finnair. This way one would get new powers in the company, "said Hautala.
Hautala thinks that Finnair generally has started moving in the right direction and business prospects looks better. According Hautala perception there are improved communication between the management and the staff which she sees as better than before.
Finnair has improved its performance and there is a stronger foothold in air traffic between Asia and Europe. The airline has sought a partner who could manage the company's services in the Nordic region, and possibly in all of Europe.
Currently the Finnish government owns a majority stake in the airliner, Finnair.
