Ikea to lay off 55 employees

Inter Ikea Systems distribution in Helsingborg, Sweden is laying off 55 employees blamed on the company’s decision to moves closer to emerging markets. The activities will focus on Greece and Singapore.
45 of those affected are invited to move with the company according to reports from local media.
“By moving services to Greece and Singapore, we will further our growth markets in the Middle East, southern Europe and Asia,” says Per Hörnell, director of the company.

The distribution department will get 15 services left after the reorganization.
