Ikea founder, Ingvar Kamprad is know for being very careful with the
penny but what is not much talked about is his philanthropic heart
especially in Sweden. A reminder of that came when a healthcare centre
was shocked by a donation to them from eh Ikea superman.
According to news reports, for three years, a healthcare in the
locality of Ljungby had sought from the local authority money to buy
new equipments for the hospital - equipment that was needed to detect
bladder cancer. But the local authority said No that there was no
money. Then the frustrated medics turned to Ingvar Kamprad instead.
Surprise, the Ikea founder responded with a handwritten letter and a cheque for Skr300 000 from Kamprad's fund.
Who said the IKEA big boss was too tight with money? Just ask and you might be answered, not only in the bible but also here.
