Gold mine in the Swedish unemployment job market as companies cash out but produce no result

Wednesday, 03 April 2013
When ordinary people, the majority of those who make up a communities around the country look down on capitalistic principles and big business, the rightwing media and politicians which usually claim to be on the side of businesses always call them names including that they are work- shy, lazy or benefit lovers and the like.

One reason for why many common people in the communities would always feel betrayed by big businesses is because they are in any operation, rightly so  only for the money and nothing more - no quality, satisfaction, experience etc., as people usually say.

As the economic situation in Sweden has led to many people becoming unemployed, one would feel that getting people back to work would be a top propriety to the government and that the various organisations standing out to help them really mean that. It turns out that the high level of unemployment has instead become big businesses for various organisations with strong connections. Evidence that these organisations have strong connections is because when they use tax payers money to provide a path to the job market and many people still struggle to get a job, the have to be questioned. However, this is not the case.

In 2008 the Swedish government decided that in order to push more people, especially the youth back to work the job market,  activates should be extended to  private operators  who would provide among others job coaching and extra training needed by the job seeker and requested by the employers.

Since then, nearly Skr4.7 billion was paid by the National Employment Service to private operators for the purpose of helping with everything from rehabilitation, job coaching and to assist newly arrived immigrants into the job market.

According to a new review carried out by Swedish television of some 20 companies that received the most money from the Employment Service between 2010 and 2012 aimed at helping people back to work, several of the companies that have most or all of its revenue from the Employment Service, have shown profit margins of over 25 percent.

Despite this high profit, Swedish unemployment rate remain high. Youth unemployment continues to rise and is now among one of the highest in Europe. Unemployment among people of dark skin, those who are most affected in the job market continue to remain high.

The Companies were supposed to provide that extra approaches to improved matching of career and qualifications in the labour market and preventing exclusion, ensuring that everyone gets individually tailored support and help from a personal tutor.

One of the companies Swedish television cited is a nationwide recruitment known as  Personalstrategerna (Staff Strategists). It activities has been described as very good making impressive money from the government. Staff Strategists is a success story and has been praised by leading business magazines as a some of the fastest growing companies and success stories in Sweden.

But job its employees have testified about abuses at the company - poor working condition, unsafe environment, the lack of materials and substandard operations, report various Swedish media sources.

The parent company that owns the entire business is called Happy Business Sweden. Behind the company are shroud business people Per Fredriksson and Johanna Pettersson from Eskilstuna. According to the annual report of the year 2010/2011, they made a dividend of about Skr16 million, taking out a million Krona in salary and made pension contributions of Skr18 million. Overall, it was thus about Skr35 million on the whole - all the money coming from the Swedish tax payers.

Without over working the point, how unemployment become a big business can be seen in Sweden. Also see how tax payers fund other corporations and how job seekers remain desperate looking for work and cannot find one even though they have been given the support by the government. It just happens that these companies are fully connected and nothing will happen to them even if they cannot show any result.
