Tuesday, 04 September 2012
The Chinese company, Geely, which owns Volvo Cars, is now China's third largest auto exporter after Chery and Great Wall. The company want to strengthen that by dashing into building more factories outside China.
Export manager, Zhang Lin told Automotive News, according to Swedish media reports that the company is considering expanding into Russia and Southeast Asia, where it already has assembly plants. Towards the end of the year, cars will also be assembled in factories in Uruguay and next year in Egypt.
In addition, it may be necessary to dive into India and Iran.
Geely is thinking though for several years to enter the European and North American markets.
