Tuesday, 11 June 2013
The graduate dissipation of Nokia, Finland's strongest IT Company had
left a huge vacuum in the country's tech department. This has made the
former directors and specialists of the company to use their contacts
and connections to force moves to attract investment in to the country.
According to reports from Yle, Finland's national broadcaster, within
the past months, a group of about 100 former managers of Nokia have
been working as part of a community known as Kaato, a self-described
“fast-track to Finland’s high tech and innovation assets, ” to attract investors into the country.
Some of the members of the networking group act as business advocates,
who offer hints on the best investment opportunities to newcomers to
the Finnish business scene, writes Yle.
Including advisors, providing more in-depth guidance to investors, the
community also provides project leaders who help direct specific
initiatives.
Using their experiences and connections gained during their
times as executives in Nokia the group of business networkers provides
extensive experience in several business areas such as specialists who
have established and led research and development units.
The community also offers seasoned experts in sales, finance, and intellectual property rights and personnel management.
“So we try to make it easier and faster to enter Finland,” explained Kaato partner Ebba Dåhlit to Yle.
Dåhli said that the group has so far managed to attract a mobile market developer to set up operations in Finland.
