Fewer new companies created in Sweden in August

Business creation in Sweden fell in August as only 4,996 new companies were registered with the Swedish Companies Registration Office. That was a decrease of 2 percent compared with the same month last year.

This means that the increase in the number of new businesses that was observed in July only persisted for a month. The trend with the exception of July has been downward since the beginning of the year, with a total reduction of 12 percent in the number of newly registered companies, according to the Swedish Companies Registration Office.
