Fall in Swedish industrial production

Tuesday, 10 April 2012
Uncertainty in the US job creation is not the only thing affecting investors in Swedes and Scandinavian at large but also the fall in Swedish industrial production.

Industrial production in decreased by 5.2 percent in seasonally adjusted figures in February compared to January according t official figures from the Swedish statistic office. Comparing February with the same month in 2011, industrial production dropped by 7.1 percent in working day adjusted figures.

According to underlying data the decline is due to a reduction in production that appears to be temporary. Developments in January compared to February varied among the industry sub-sectors, but the majority showed a decreasing production. The electronics industry and the food industry had the largest positive developments, while the textile industry and the motor vehicle industry showed a decreasing production.
