Alecta to tender its entire 9.13 per cent stake in Rhön-Klinikum AG
Monday, 18 June 2012
Alecta has, after in-depth discussions with all parties involved in the
transaction, today decided to tender all of its shares in Rhön-Klinikum
to Fresenius.
The industrial logic for combining Fresenius-Helios and Rhön-Klinikum
is strong. Both companies are acting from a position of strength and
complement each other at the same time. Therefore this combination has
the potential to create an even stronger entity and offers
opportunities for significant synergies.
“We are confident that Fresenius-Helios and Rhön-Klinikum together will
reach the targeted structure and results set forth for this
transaction. In addition, we are happy to support Eugen Münch, founder
of Rhön-Klinikum, in his vision to create an integrated health care
system focused on the patients’ needs, by treating the patient at the
right facility at the right time”, says Leif Törnvall, Portfolio
Manager at Alecta.
Alecta has been a shareholder in both Rhön-Klinikum and Fresenius for many years.
“These are two quality companies. We highly regard them for their
excellent track records, proven business models, reliable managements
and significant growth opportunities”, says Marcus Lüttgen, Co-Manager
at Alecta.
