1300 new tourism companies created in Sweden last year

Of all the 76 000 new companies established in Sweden last year, 1300 of them are exclusively engaged in tourism activities, said the tourism industry Entrepreneurial Index.

Gothenburg, Malmo and Stockholm accounted for half of the new businesses in the tourism industry. But in terms of population Jämtland stand out on the list with 41 new companies.

The increase in tourism business since 2010, has been counted to reach nine percent and in total there were 16 000 companies.
